HotShots RC Rules and Regulations
These rules are set as a guideline for your understanding and are not meant to hinder your day of racing.
Entry Fee Regularly scheduled races is $10 Per Car. Price is subject to change depending on Event.
1) HotShots RC participants, spectators, manufacturers and race promoters agree to comply with these rules and regulations.
2) Sign-up will close 1 hour prior to racing. Mandatory Drivers Meeting will take place 30 min prior to start of Race. The track will be closed during the final 30 min prior to racing to allow for final track maintenance and watering.
3) Registration forms will be used for every race and we will enter them into the computer as we receive them from each participant. The computer randomly establishes each bracket in which you qualify in.
4) Never turn on your transmitter, (controller) within a 1/4 mile of the track without a frequency clip, Spektrum / DSM are the exception. Using the proper frequency clip assures that you are the only person operating on that frequency. Gas cars and trucks practice only one tank of fuel, electric cars and trucks run one battery, and then return the clip to its proper place for others to use the available frequency
5) If there is a frequency conflict after the mains are set up, the lower qualified racer will have to change frequency. In the event that the lower qualifier does not have this option we will coordinate with the other party to make all racers able to race.
6) When “CARS DOWN” is called in a gas race, all cars must remain motionless.
7) Only one registered driver per car can compete. Allowing someone else to qualify or run the main for you is absolutely unfair to other racers and is not legal. We know this is just club racing, but this rule should not be broken. Your results will not count for that race or qualifier, if there is a problem.
6) Being in multipul car classes in a given race day is legal and acceptable. The car that was used to start a qualifier or main is the car that must be used for that entire race, or heat.
Switching to another car because yours broke is not legal. You do have the option of repairing your car for the next race, or heat. You can not use more than one car in a race.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND ILLEGAL DRUGS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT HOTSHOTS RC RACING EVENTS AND ARE NOT LEGAL IN THE PARK AT ANY TIME! THERE WILL BE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY WHEN ENFORCING THIS RULE. IF YOU ARE WISH TO DO THESE ACTIVITIES, YOU MUST NOT BE LOCATED WITHIN 100 YARDS OF ANY SLDB FACILITIES. IF YOU DO, THEN YOU WILL BE SENT HOME. NO EXCEPTIONS. PLEASE DON’T MAKE SOMEONE CALL THE POLICE! WE WILL NOT BE COVERED BY INSURANCE IF YOU VIOLATE THIS RULE. WE APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION WITH THIS.
STOP AND GO’S
If a driver or pit person has done something illegal, the Race Director will instruct the driver to drive his car into the pit lane and stop. The driver may exit the pit and continue in the race when the race director grants permission.
(1.) Unsportsmanlike driving
(2.) Intentional car bumping (hammering)
(3.) Jump starting or non-motionless car at start of main
(4.) Short cutting
(5.) Driving against traffic
(6.) Servicing and or refueling car/truck during a stop & go
(7.) Careless speed or driving in pit lane
(8.) Causing an accident while exiting pit lane
(9.) Obstruction of pit lane by your vehicle and or pit person/s
(10.) Refueling a car anywhere but on the pit wall.
CORNER MARSHALING / PITTING
(1.) Racers are required to corner marshal after every race they are scheduled to be in. There will be numbered cones on the track, you will marshal at the cone that matches your car number printed on the heat sheet. If you fail to marshal we will remove one lap from your best qualifying time just before setting up the mains
(2.) If for some reason you are unable to marshal when it is your turn, it will be your responsibility to get a replacement. If your are registered in two or more classes and are back to back don’t complain and expect the Race Director to change the order of races. The simple fix is to get someone to marshal for you.
(3.) Only another qualified individual will be able to marshal, and you will be responsible for their actions. If you use a substitute make those arrangements before racing begins. When your race is over, turn off your equipment, return your transponder and please get out on the track!
(4.) When marshaling a car that has gone off the track or has flipped, PLACE IT on the track where it left the racing surface, pointing in the correct direction. Marshals’, turning a car over is more important than repairing a car.
(5.) A corner marshal is not required to assist a car until the driver stops revving the motor.
(6.) If you are marshaling a gas car that has just flamed out, you will place the car at the nearest outside portion of the track just inside the fence. You will not deliver or throw the car to the pit person.
(7.) If you are a pit person, you must go around the outside of the track to get the car from the marshal. Do not run across the track.
(8.) If a gas car is restarted it must exit the pit lane and not be carried to the spot where it flamed out. The Pit lane is the only spot which a car can re-enter the track.
(9.) Your job while Marshaling is to Marshal the cars Period, if you fail to do this within your physical abilities or position on the track it will be treated as if you failed to show up for you duties as a marshal and will be penalized accordingly. (Remember your mothers saying “do unto other as you would like done unto you”. You may need those drivers assistance in future races.) Cell phones, side bar conversations, day dreaming about your next race ect. Is considered a No No. It’s only 7 minutes and all drivers are required to do this please understood, and help out your fellow racers.
PENALTIES AND PROTESTS
(1.) The Race Director is the person who has been put in charge of races, and the only one to make decisions on how a race is to operate.

(3.) Second offense of the same will result in disqualification of current qualifier.

RACE SETUP AND ORGANIZATION
1) 5 minutes between each qualifier, and 15 minutes between each round. Remember that the 5 minutes prior to the start of the race is not the race. Treat it as a warm up period to ensure your car is running properly or any last minute changes need to be made. (If you break during this period see Next Line)
2) 2 minutes for repairs/extension to start of race will be granted only if requested and does not mean they will always be honored. This is for certain circumstances and is not used freely.
3) Silent car check-ins will be used prior to the start of each race, all racers need to be ready to go and in place for the check in to ensure that the check in is done in a quick manner to allow for the warm-up. If you have borrowed a Transponder please make your first stop the Race Directors booth to return your transponder for follow on racers.
